What is Amlovix® used for?
Amlovix® is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist, used for the treatment of hypertension and angina pectoris.
How Amlovix® works?
Amlovix® is a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist. Due to their selectivity for the peripheral blood vessels, dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers are associated with a lower incidence of myocardial depression and cardiac conduction abnormalities than other calcium channel blockers. Amlodipine has antioxidant properties and an ability to enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO), an important vasodilator that decreases blood pressure.

Dizziness, drowsiness, swelling of legs or ankles, irregular heartbeat, pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest, muscle stiffness, uncontrolled muscle movements, feeling tired, stomach pain, nausea or flushing (sudden warmth, redness, or tingly feeling).
