What is Lopo® used for?
Lopo® is an angiotensin-II receptor (type AT1) antagonist indicated for the treatment of hypertension.
How Lopo® works?
Lopo® belongs to a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Losartan and its principal active metabolite block the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone secreting effects of angiotensin-II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin-II to the AT1 receptor found in many tissues.
Side effects of Lopo®
Lopo® may cause serious side effects:
Common side effects may include: dizziness, tiredness, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, diarrhea, back pain or cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat.
What if you forget to take Lopo® tablet?
If you miss a dose of Lopo® tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Warnings
Do not use Lopo® if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant, stop taking this medicine and tell your doctor right away.
